Non-Electric Chillers
Non-electric chillers provide an alternative to conventional compression chillers making it possible to use waste heat or renewable energy sources to provide commercial/industrial air-conditioning.
Absorption Chillers
- Use heat energy in lieu of electricity to produce the
cooling effect - Possible heat sources include: Waste heat from
industrial streams (steam, exhaust, hot water),
Waste heat from co-generation (CHPC), Natural and
Biogas, Solar thermal hot water, etc - Use water as refrigerant (NO harmful CFCs or Freon)
- Few to no moving parts => minimal maintenance
and very silent operation
